New Children’s Hospital

A new children’s hospital is set to be built at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre in Nedlands to replace Princess Margaret Hospital for Children in Subiaco.

The new hospital will be a state-of-the-art facility to rival the best in the world. Detailed planning is now underway to determine the total number of beds, wards, operating theatres and other facilities.

The new hospital will be built alongside Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital – one of Australia’s leading adult tertiary hospitals. A new women’s hospital is also set to be built at the Medical Centre to replace King Edward Memorial Hospital in Subiaco.

The three hospitals will have a combined total of approximately 1,100 beds making it the largest healthcare facility in the Western Australia.
