Midland Health Campus

To meet the growing and changing needs of the Swan region, the State Government has committed $193 million to building a new state-of-the-art hospital in the heart of Midland.

When complete, the new Midland Health Campus will offer:

The new public hospital is the first to be built in the area since construction of the existing 206-bed Swan Districts Hospital built in Eveline Street in Midland in 1954.

Planning is well under way, with the construction of the new landmark facility due for completion by 2011.

The new campus will help cater for a growing and ageing population in the eastern metropolitan area, which is expected to surge by 39 per cent by 2016, with an increase of 62 per cent of the population aged over 80.

The new hospitals catchment will also expand following the closure of Royal Perth Hospital in 2011-12.

The Midland Health Campus is a major project of the North Metropolitan Area Health Service (NMAHS), part of the Western Australian Governments public health service. It is part of a total rebuild of the WAs health system and record $3.6 billion capital works program for hospitals across the State.
