Held annually, Jersey Day was inspired by Nathan Gremmo, who lost his life in an accident in 2015. Nathan’s family chose to give the gift of life to others in honour of Nathan’s generous personality.

On Jersey Day, schools and workplaces across Australia are encouraged to don their favourite sporting jersey to show their support and raise awareness of organ and tissue donation.

Saffron Day

Saffron Day honours Deyaan Udani, a seven-year-old boy who died on a family holiday in 2016. Deyaan and his older sister Naisha had learned about organ and tissue donation at school. The siblings told their parents they wanted to be organ donors to help save the lives of others. On Saffron Day, held annually, people are encouraged to wear a piece of saffron (orange) to encourage a conversation about organ donation.
