Australian Nurse Practitioner of the Year 2020

Congratulations to our very own Carol Douglas, named the Australian Nurse Practitioner of the Year 2020.  What an achievement for Carol in this the International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife.

In accepting her award Carol said “I am proud to say that I have been a nurse for over 45 years and of that, a Nurse Practitioner for 9 years.  It is safe to say I never expected to be receiving this award, and in the face of one of the most challenging years for nurses all around the world. I am humbled.”

Carols’ role included the creation of the Nurse Practitioner led sustainable Residential Care Line (RCL) outreach service model, designed to prevent avoidable presentations to the Emergency Department. Carol is a true example of a dedicated and passionate nurse who works to deliver the best outcomes for her patients. Well done Carol we’re so very proud of you.
