New opportunity for Consumer Carer representative

13/10/2025
Carers Week is an opportune time to announce an exciting new consumer engagement activity now on offer at North Metropolitan Health Service.

Applications are open for a Consumer Carer Representative to join the North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS) Board Safety, Quality and Consumer Engagement Committee.

This position represents the highest level of consumer carer engagement across NMHS and is the first time this opportunity has become available.

NMHS Executive Director Public Health and Clinical Excellence Tina Bertilone said the inclusion of a consumer representative onto the Board Safety, Quality and Consumer Engagement committee represents a wonderful opportunity to bring lived experience into the heart of decision making.

“Applications are welcomed from those with experience in navigating the health system and a desire to help shape its future,” she said.

The purpose of the Committee is to assist the NMHS Board in monitoring and fostering safety, quality and consumer engagement in patient care across NMHS.

The Committee provides assurance to the Board that the Clinical Governance, Safety and Quality and Consumer Engagement frameworks are implemented and effective.

If you want to participate in the shaping of healthcare, are able to bring a consumer carer perspective, and have the ability to represent the diverse needs and perspectives of the NMHS community, please see details below on how to apply.
